Who is Joni West?

Joni West is a new business development catalyst. She possesses a unique combination of right and left-brain skills which come together dynamically in the way she approaches developing new business for her agency clients.

Joni's experience and game changing process typically cuts the time line to new business in half!

She engages in long and short-term engagements with individual clients to develop new business opportunities in collaboration with new business development leaders and their respective colleagues. Although Joni is based in San Francisco, she has successfully contracted with clients throughout the United States.

Joni started her career in New York City as an art, fashion and corporate photographer. She soon found herself putting her creative talents to use in the corporate communications, events and entertainment industry where she held positions including senior producer, creative director and account executive. She brought her wealth of experience with her when she moved to San Francisco in 1991. Her communication skills and experiences with her clients had resulted in dramatically increased sales for her employers and sparked her interest and entry into the new business development arena.

In 2003, Joni opened high-level executive doors for new business as a contracted strategic partnerships consultant for one of the world's leading experiential agencies, Jack Morton Worldwide in addition to several similar event agencies.

In late 2004, she was engaged to support the business development efforts at Avenue A – Razorfish. In early 2005, after a careful and thoughtful assessment of her client's portfolio and where we Avenue-A/Razorfish had a right to win, she set her sights on Procter & Gamble. At the time the agency had no existing relationship anywhere within P&G. Through close collaboration with her agency client and Joni's game changing process, AA-RF began to develop relationships very quickly, gave thought leadership presentations, held capabilities meetings, one-on-one, with marketing executives, took clients to industry conferences and most importantly generated revenue opportunities with a multitude of brand groups throughout the vast portfolio at P&G. Her ultimately success came when Avenue-A/Razorfish was invited into and winning Agency of Record status, 9 months after her new business development campaign on P&G began!

Joni enjoys teaching her new business development methods, strategies, and tactics to sales people and account executives at marketing agencies of all types and sizes.
